Today’s post is part 3 of the Spring Cleaning Detox! The Spring Cleaning Detox has been looking at ways to spring clean your diet and mind, and now we’re focusing on ways to spring clean our bodies. It’s easy to take our bodies for granted, at times not realizing how valuable they really are. I once heard a great metaphor that has always stuck with me, which said our bodies are like a beautiful temple that we get to live in. I know I want to keep my temple in the best condition possible, and not let it fall apart into some shack! So what can you do today to keep your temple in the best shape possible?
#1 Exercise! This one may seem obvious, but a lot of us aren’t getting enough of it. Find ways to make exercise fun for you, so that you’ll have a better chance of doing it more often. If you struggle with committing to an exercise routine, try finding a work-out pal and keep each other in check with your fitness goals!
#2 Sweat! Sweating is an amazing detoxifier for your body. It’s also great for your skin to sweat daily. If you’re up for it, take a hot yoga class and you’ll seriously get your sweat on!
#3 Sleep! Everyone’s different when it comes to how much
sleep they need.
I find myself well rested with 6-8 hours. Each hour you sleep before midnight counts as two hours to your body! It’s also been shown that the best time to go to bed is between 8 PM and 10 PM. If you’re suffering from a chronic illness or recovering from an injury, it’s even more crucial that you hit the hay earlier.
